Jorge A. Santibáñez

How many years have you served as a Catechist?

2017-2018 will be my 4th year as DRE at COTLF.

What do you enjoy most about being a Catechist?

Getting to witness the celebration of the Sacraments of children who begin the program as strangers but become like extended family members. Calling the students, "my kids," is more than just an expression - it's how I genuinely feel!

Who is your favorite go-to saint? Why?

My birth patron, St. John Bosco. He's most well known as being the patron saint of both young people and educators. He has played a key role in my discernment of my vocation and has always been a great role model for me. I often turn to him for inspiration and intercession.

A fun fact to know about you is...

Between December 2017 and January 2018, I will take my second attempt at qualifying for the "Marathon Maniacs," running 3 full marathons within 90 calendar days of each other. I first attempted it in 2012 and completed the first two, but only got halfway through the third!
